The Client

General Electric (GE) develops cutting-edge machinery in healthcare, aerospace, and many other industries. Because their machinery and processes are so technically complex, GE is always seeking better ways to convey these topics both internally and externally to wider audiences.

GE engaged me to craft visually compelling illustrations that simplify these intricate technologies, helping them communicate GE's impact more effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

Moodboards and simple visualizations quickly help clients see the potential of a project.

The Strategy

When GE approached me and my team to develop a series of illustrations that would simplify their groundbreaking innovations, I saw this as an opportunity to not only educate but also to inspire curiosity. Our goal was to create visuals that would translate the complexity of GE's technologies—such as the Healthcare AIR™ Recon DL, the GE9X Engine, and their Aerospace Lean Manufacturing processes—into engaging, accessible narratives.

The final result not only aligned perfectly with GE’s goals but also elevated the storytelling around these innovations. We used a mix of 2D and 3D illustrations with clean, minimalist aesthetics, intentionally incorporating key text annotations to highlight critical moments of action. This approach allowed us to transform dense, highly technical subjects into designs that were both visually compelling and easy to understand for employees and external audiences alike.

The Results

The illustrations we created brought GE’s cutting-edge solutions to life, making their innovations in healthcare, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing more accessible to diverse audiences. Our visuals not only educated but became a powerful tool for GE to showcase their leadership in these industries. The impact of our work was underscored when GE’s AIR Recon DL technology won the Popular Science Innovation of the Year Award, with our illustration prominently featured in promoting this prestigious achievement.

Seeing our designs featured in Popular Science was a proud moment for the team, as it highlighted the role our work played in amplifying GE’s innovations on a global stage.
